Why Cerf Volant?

Some of the fun is lost in translation but whilst ‘cerf-volant’ is the word you would use for a kite, it also literally means a flying (volant) stag (cerf). Funnily enough, a flying stag is an emblem of our Bourbonnais region, which is why the stags on our labels are very eager to learn how to fly.
